At Empowering Women Out of Prison (EWOP), volunteers serve both inside and outside of prison, from attending in-prison events to supporting women from home or the office as a business plan advisor, mentor, or prayer. No matter how you serve, you’ll be part of a movement that changes lives… including your own!

01 · In-Prison Events
In-Prison Events
Join us within TDCJ correctional facilities for special business and entrepreneurship events throughout the year. Volunteers provide encouragement, support, and real-world insights to women participating in our programs. This is a meaningful opportunity to engage directly with participants and witness the impact of empowerment and education firsthand.
02 · Virtual Mentorship
Virtual Mentorship
Serve as a virtual mentor and help participants develop their business plans from concept to completion. Advisors provide feedback, share professional expertise, and encourage participants as they work through each stage of the planning process. Whether you have experience in business, finance, marketing, operations, or entrepreneurship, your guidance can make a lasting impact on a participant’s journey.
03 · Group Service
Group opportunities
Looking for a way to serve as a team? We welcome businesses, churches, civic organizations, student groups, and other community partners who want to make a difference. Group volunteer opportunities may include supporting in-prison events, assembling program materials, hosting donation drives, or participating in community-based projects that support our alumni.

Complete your application
Tell us a little about yourself and your background so we can connect you with the best volunteer opportunities. The application takes about ten minutes to complete.
Background check and TDCJ clearance
All volunteers entering a TDCJ facility complete a background check and receive TDCJ clearance. We use the information from your application to submit the required paperwork, so no additional action is needed from you.
Receive approval
Once your application has been reviewed and approved, you will receive a confirmation email with next steps.
